Customer right to choose
Did you know it is the customers right to choose their own repair facility? When you call in an insurance claim your insurance company will recommend one of their preferred shops. They give you all the reasons it will be so convenient for you. For some people dropping off their car and not being involved and getting their car back asap in satisfactory condition works for them. You do have the right to choose your own shop. High end independent shops like Kenny Hawkins Automotive shine when it comes to giving excellent customer service along with a quality repair. At insurance preferred auto body shops the insurance company is their customer. They are ranked based on how quickly and cheaply they can get your car fixed with the promise of making it up in volume from the insurance referrals. Being an independent shop we do not have the same constraints. We are able to openly have conversations with our customers about the best repair plans for their vehicle and present that to the insurance company for pre approval. Sometimes it can take a few extra days to get everyone on the same page but it is worth the extra effort and shows in the final results. We also make sure pricing is upfront so there are no surprises when you come to pick up. At a good independent shop the contract is between the customer and the shop and we are submitting and working with insurance on your behalf for what is best for the customer and their car that was involved in the collision, not working directly for the insurance who can make decisions about the customers car without them being directly involved.
